(kalama sutta) One day Buddha went to Kesamutti hamlet ruled by Kalama Clan, There Kalama citizen enquired Buddha about their problem.
Rev. Buddha! out of the existing several religious teachers, each and everyone claimed that his doctrine only is true. we were unable to know whose doctrine is really true.
The Buddha replied, "devotees!
(1) you should not accept as true by hearsay (from others);
(2) should not accept as true that handed down traditionally from religious teachers in succession;
(3) should not accept it thinking that it has accrued thus;
(4) should not accept by mere consideration with it is the words of the scriptures;
(5) should not accept by mere consideration with your own wisdom;
(7) should not accept by pondering and accepting it;
(8)should not accept because the person is worthy of revering,
(9) You should accept it as true by endeavoring to know by oneself.
